Almighty God, heavenly Father, you have blessed us with the joy and care of children: Give us calm strength and patient wisdom as we bring them up, that we may teach them to love whatever is just and true and good, following the example of our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen. (Book of Common Prayer, pg. 829)

At Christ Episcopal Church, our care for children begins early. We have adult volunteers who are loyal to the children and their families, while devoted to provide the safest, most nurturing environment possible for all the children who attend or participate at Christ Church.

Nursery

Christ Episcopal Church has a staffed nursery on premises for all infants and pre-school aged children.

Vacation Bible School

Children's Chapel

For our elementary-age children, Christ Episcopal Church offers Children's Chapel, attendance at the Eucharist, and fellowship with other church member families as ways in which they are invited to begin their lifelong faith journey.

Children’s Chapel is offered during the 10:30 AM worship service.  The Chapel service models a rotation style curriculum that occasionally mirroring the Revised Common Lectionary.  All children ages five through ten are welcome to attend.  Children begin class at 10:30 and stay until after the sermon, entering the church to join their families during the Peace. This class focuses on introducing the Bible and the Church to young children. Bible stories from the Old and New Testament are explored, the Church calendar and seasons are observed. The rotation curriculum is a hands-on teaching method that is very effective at involving children in the story at their own level and allowing them to question and explain the meaning of the story.

If you have any questions about a class or about Children’s Christian Formation in general, or would like to join the volunteer team that makes it possible, talk to our Children’s Ministry Director Jessica Cenci on Sunday mornings, contact our Parish Administrator at This email address is being protected from spambots.
