Jeri Carson
I am a cradle, Episcopalian and have been a member here for 40+ years. My children were baptized and confirmed here. I was reaffirmed by Bishop Skirving in 2024.
I have been involved as a Lay Eucharistic Minister, Sunday School teacher, women’s Bible study, adult Sunday school, EYC (when my children were younger), Vacation Bible School, Vestry member from 2001 to 2004, front office volunteer and member of the 200th anniversary committee. I have been through joyful and hard times but have always found God ‘s peace in these walls.
I’m excited about starting the second 200 years of Christ Church. We are getting our gorgeous church in tiptop shape and will soon welcome a new rector. These are exciting times.

Phil Hornthal
I am a lifelong member of Christ Church, where I was baptized, confirmed, an acolyte and a member of EYC before matriculating to college at Chapel Hill.  Following law school, I worked in Raleigh for 6 years and met my wife Kristy, before moving back to Elizabeth City, and becoming an active member once again in Christ Church.  Kristy and I have raised our three children, LP, Ellie and James, in Christ Church, where each of them were baptized, confirmed, an acolyte and member of EYC.  James and I also joined a group from our church on a mission trip to Ecuador.
Since moving back to Elizabeth City, I’ve served on the Arts of the Albemarle Board of Directors and as co-chairman of the campaign to move our Arts Center to its current location, served as President of the Elizabeth City Rotary Club,  served on the Boys and Girls Club of the Albemarle, on the founding Board of Directors for Carolina Youth Soccer Association, and coached youth basketball and baseball locally.
At Christ Church, I have I taught Sunday School with Kristy, and have served as acolyte sponsor for over twenty years, and have served on Vestry, serving as Clerk, Stewardship, Youth and Senior Warden.

Eric Brookman
I have been a member of Christ Episcopal Church since 2024 and have been working with our A/V system for the past few months. I aim to help our parish be welcoming, transparent, and technically reliable—from sound and livestream to clear communication and good stewardship. I work as a cloud architect (IT guy) and love turning complex systems into simple, dependable tools for ministry. “Let all that you do be done in love.” (1 Cor 16:14)

Conrad Jones
I’m a “cradle Episcopalian” who has followed my faith journey over the years as God lead me to serve in many ways. As a teen and young adult, I have served as an Acolyte and Crucifer, EYC leader, and received the Beverly Parrish Young Christian award from my parish in Martinsville, Va. As an adult, I have continued my service on multiple vestries in several parishes in Virginia, also as a Lay Reader and Server, and Lay Eucharist Minister and Youth Group leader along with my wife Janie. Beyond the parishes I’ve belonged to, I also served three years as the National President of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew, the official men’s ministry of the Episcopal and Anglican community for over 141 years. I currently serve as the Chapter Director of our Christ Church chapter, which was chartered in 1912, and I serve as a Lay Reader, as well as Janie and I are delegates to the Diocesan Convention.
We moved to Hertford (Albemarle Plantation) in 2021 and found our way to Christ Church. Although we are a bit more than just a quick trip to Elizabeth City, we truly feel we found the church home we wanted to be involved with as we continue our faith journey. Our two sons and their wives and our one grandson live in Northern Virginia so we do travel there as often as we can. It would be a pleasure to serve Christ Church and our parishioners as a member of our vestry.

Hunter Michael
I’m Hunter Michael, a lifelong member of Christ Church. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed serving through mission trips to the U.S. and Ecuador, teaching Sunday School, being part of the Altar Guild, SOULs, and volunteering as a receptionist. I’m currently serving on the Search Committee as well.
Now retired from my work as an elementary school counselor, I cherish time with my family, grandchildren, and friends—and I love spending time in my garden and with art. I hope to do my small part in helping Christ Church remain a loving family and continue growing in continue growing in faith.

Robert “Bobby” Herman II
Grew up in Hopewell, Virginia and FarmVille, Virginia. His faith was heavily influenced by his grandmother who brought him to church as a kid. Bobby joined the Marines in 2008 and spent 5 years serving. Today, Bobby works as a civil service employee at the United States Coast Guard base where he performs Non Destructive testing on the aircraft. Bobby and his wife, Katelin, share two children, Louisa (6) and Linwood (1.5) and their English cream golden retriever, “Winnie”. Bobby and Katelin were married at Christ Church in May of 2023 and were confirmed members later that year. When he’s not working, Bobby enjoys taking his daughter fishing and going to the movies with his wife.

Todd White
Our 200th anniversary year is my 51st year as a member of Christ Episcopal Church and I am very eager to serve on the Vestry for the next three years. It is a very special commitment, and I am hoping to be a part of this church leadership. We have been fortunate to have such good members and families for both our Sunday services and other commitments. It would be an honor to be a part of this continuation. Instead of listing the accomplishments I have been lucky to be a part of, I would like to just say thank you for the support you have given me in the past.
