The Rev. Daniel Mark Cenci is a life-long Episcopalian whose family roots run deep in the Episcopal Churches of eastern North Carolina. The Rev. Cenci acquired a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and History from The University of Alabama in 2007 and a Master’s in Divinity from The Virginia Theological Seminary in 2012. During his seminary career, The Rev. Cenci served as the Parish Seminarian at the historic Pohick Episcopal Church in Lorton, Virginia. Daniel was ordained in the Diocese of Alabama as a Deacon in 2012 and as a Presbyter in 2013. Daniel’s first call out of seminary was to serve as Curate at St. John’s Episcopal Church in downtown Montgomery, AL. In 2015, Daniel was called to serve as Rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Clinton, NC. In December of 2019, Daniel was called to serve as Rector of Christ Episcopal Church in Elizabeth City, NC. Since 2015, Daniel has also served as the part-time supply minister at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Speed, NC. Rev. Cenci is also the Clergy Dean of the Albemarle Episcopal Deanery. At the diocesan level, Daniel has served on the Executive Council, the commission on ministry, the board of the Farmworker Ministry, and as chair of the Elections Committee. Locally, Rev. Cenci serves on the board of the Albemarle YMCA and serves as a board member and upper school chaplain at the Covenant Classical Academy.  

The Rev. Cenci has been married to Jessica Dawn Cenci, a Registered Nurse, since June of 2013. Jessica and Daniel have two children (Jadon, age 9 and Mary Emma, age 4.) They have two dogs, Calvin and Elouise, and enjoy history, hiking, traveling, and spending time on their family farm in Edgecombe County, NC.
